What more can I say about Asbury Park that I haven’t ranted previously for the past 20 years? It was my secret getaway since early High School and has evolved dramatically from the $25 room. The Berkeley once offered. It’s where I escaped to hang since the beach afforded much privacy. It’s where I saw The Strokes before they were THE STROKES. And much like Jersey  City, Asbury Park has witnessed its own revival. It’s now where a cultural and culinary renaissance meets the ocean.

Forever connected to The Boss, Asbury Park is an easy escape from the hustle and bustle of city-life without touring the Parkway. Along with beautiful sand and brilliant surf, you’ll find a revitalized boardwalk, a vibrant, diverse nightlife, and a cornucopia of culinary choices. Many of the streets are lined with impressive Victorian and early 20th-century homes that stand alongside modern construction, cosmopolitan shopping, and impressive live shows. Whether you yearn for a relaxing day at the beach or some rock n’ roll at the infamous Stone Pony, Asbury Park offers a progressive mix of the Shore’s past, present and future. Cool breeze. Hard waves. Smoking dudes. Hot babes. Sand, Surf and Rock n’ Roll. We get it. Now that the secret’s out and I see many of you down there anyway, I thought to make the trek a bit more fun and a lot less hassle. Tell Tillie the Day Trippers sent you.

Honey I brought the kids: Straight-shot down 2nd Avenue. East of Asbury Splash. Close to bathrooms, food, families, and a play area in the sand.
